More and more these days you are reading in the news paper or seeing on the tv someone killed due to an addiction and that is not including people who rob to get the money for thier addiction. I grew up in a household with an alcoholic parent, though he was a happy and functioing alcoholic it does not make it ok.
My cousin was addicted to something that was totally taking over his life and driving loved ones away, if it was not for Opiate Withdrawal I am sure he would not be with us now. Pulling his life together the whole family is proud of him and he is now a well known and respected business owner in our local town. Seeing everything he has been through in his life and pulled through to be the man he is today, I take my hat off to him.
I know the first step is always the hardest and relaps is not an option, that is something he always says over and over, after all the hard work he has put in to get clean and keep clean which has taken years, he is onto the next hard part of his life, he has just become a father to a lovely healthy baby boy!
