Why I have been silent

I have been getting a few e-mails saying “Tracey your not the same what’s the matter?”
It is true, my blog has been the last thing on my mind lately, it is nothing but paid posts, sponsored posts and a rambling of nothing, By the way, thank you for my friends for doing that for me.
So what has been happening? Yes I am ready to spill it.
Earlier this year my Dad (in-law) was told he had cancer and on his birthday he was told just how bad it was, he has very aggressive cancer in the lungs that had worked its way up to his brain. It was not something we were all expecting and nothing we had ever dealt with before but that is life, throwing you new experiences be it bad or good. In August he had finished his chemo and they were hopeful. We were told that nothing will cure him but this will give him more time. At the end of September he was due to go back for his 6 week check up to see how things were going, but before that Mum and Dad decided he was feeling well enough to go away for 2 weeks, 1 week into the vacation they called us to come and get them that Dad was doing not so good. WaG, Monstertje and myself set off for the drive to go and get them and we were shocked when we got there that Dad looked so weak, Monsterje (My daughter) kept grandpa (opa) busy by telling him all about school and we packed up the caravan and drove them back home.Unable to wait till the end of September for the check up Mum called the hospital on the Monday to make an earlier appointment.
Cutting this long story short, the doctors were taken back to see the cancer had returned and it was so aggressive, there was nothing more they could do, it was to early for a new round of chemo, they sent Dad home with pain killers and chemo in tablet form, this only lasted 5 days before WaG and I got a call at 1am and all it said was
“Calling ambulance some things not right” In my PJ’s, WaG in his boxers, we beat the ambulance to Mum and Dads (in normal circumstances it is a 15 minute drive)
Dad was rushed to the hospital with an intestine infection and that is where we are now.
Dad is still in hospital and the antibiotics are not clearing up the infection, his white blood cell count is so low that they are giving him some, he calls it his “special orange juice” as that is what to bag looks like when it is hanging there.
He is on a lot of pain killers now but he is keeping his spirits high, he loves monstertje visiting, his one and only grandkid and they are just a team together.
It has been stressful for all of us and to add to it Dad’s sister is also in hospital with a brain tumour and has been given only days to live, this is not going to be a very nice or easy time for us all, I am sure the burn outs will be hitting us all soon.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. My husband has a brain tumor, and I know how hard it is to see someone you love suffering. I wish you and your family all the best through this difficult time.
