Quit it

I listen to the radio a lot and love to catch up on all the local news and such and I really love the radio station I listen to, the presenters are just totally nuts.
A few weeks ago they were laughing and joking about a new law in The Netherlands, it is now law that there is not smoking in restaurants, cafes also in many buildings, Now what they were laughing about was the news, as they where reading the news they were about wetting themselves as many bars/cafes where saying how it is a load of BS and no one is handing out fines so they put the ashtrays back on the bar.
Now what they were laughing about is the fact that these cafes had gone to the media to say it was a load of BS and they were losing to many customers because of the new law. Today on the radio there was new statistics over the fines given due to people smoking in bars and cafes, before October there was just under 50 fines given out and from October till the end of November there was over 600, ALL the cafes that went to the media got fines.
So to all the managers and PR people of the cafes, how effin stupid are you? do you really think going to the newspapers and the radio stations saying "well no one has come in yet to check" would have really worked when you gave your business name and address to the newspapers? Idiots you deserve to lose customers if your so stupid, close your doors if you do not like the new law.
It is true hundreds of bars and cafes have closed due to the new law but the truth be known The Netherlands is over run by cafes and I think it is a good thing there is less now, If you are not original enough to keep your doors open and your customers happy then you need to look for something else to do. Simple as that really.
Keep the new law, keep handing out fines to people breaking the law, seems the only way you can hurt people these days is in the hip pocket.

I don't have a problem with smoking in bars - if you're the kind of person who hangs out in bars frequently then your health probably isn't the first thing on your mind.

I don't see the need for smoking in restaurants though. People who think it's okay to smoke around food (other people's or their own) are trashy anyway, and shouldn't be eating in public.
